Polo might have been born a polar bear, but she longed for sunshine, less fatty foods and warm waters. She made friends with the seals and whales who told her tales of far away places called “Hawaii”, “Cape Town” and “California” and she thought they all sounded grand.  

Her best friend, Shida the seal pup, found some old sunglasses on a dive one day, and as soon as Polo heard that everyone in sunny places wore them, she never took them off again.
