When Rosie was born, her
bright pink nose made her name inevitable. She grew up
around her parents’ junk shop, happily exploring all the
things that other people discarded. Rosie just loved all
the old bits and pieces of jewelry and fabric, clothing
and oddments that came into the store every day, and would
play with them, putting them all together in new and
different ways for hours at a time.
By the time she went to school
she had already developed quite a style of her own! Of
course her name soon became “Second Hand Rose” which quite
delighted her, as she had been a big Streisand fan from
the day she had found an old record of that very song in
the dusty depths of the store.
