Faces, paws, and other sculpted parts are hand
molded then cast in an inert lightweight materiel that
will not absorb moisture from the atmosphere, change
colors with age, grow molds, or react with the fibers
to which it is attached. It is also close to
unbreakable.
This makes for a far more stable
end product than polymer clays. One that will last for
years without highly specialized care.
Even although molds are made and used
however, no molds are used more than 6 times, and most
only once. The exception to this rule, are the bears
made available as kits, where multiple molds are made
and the run or edition size is left open.
The sculpted parts are then painted one at a
time and permanently bonded to the hand knitted or
crocheted parts of the bear..
